After what has been a very unpredictable year, to say the least, Geohex™ - together with parent company Holloway Group - are proud to announce that Geohex™ has been recognised as an Award Winner at the 2021 Australian Good Design Awards, within the Product Design Hardware and Building Category.
Established in 1958, each year the Australian Good Design Awards showcase the very best in design and innovation to an international audience. These awards recognise a broad spectrum of industries, with 12 specific design disciplines, representing over 30 categories and sub-categories.
To be eligible for an award, an entry must be evaluated against a set of three criteria: good design, design innovation and design impact, measurable in terms of a product’s social, commercial, or environmental impact.
This is a huge achievement for Geohex™ and this recognition stands as a testament to the brand’s commitment to the pillars of sustainability, team work and Australian manufacturing.
Each Geohex™ paver is made from a 100% recycled plastic blend, known as Reprolene™ and diverts plastic otherwise destined for landfill into a sustainable surface stabilisation and soil erosion solution.
Backed by research conducted by the University of Newcastle, the unique hexagonal design of Geohex™ means that any weight applied to the surface of the product is evenly distributed across the entire surface area of the installation. Geohex™ is also non-reactive, non-toxic to animals, people and plants, easy to install, cost-effective and has applications across a wide range of industries, including civil, construction, agricultural, mining, landscaping, residential and more.
Proudly Australian made and owned, Geohex™ is manufactured locally in Minto, NSW and employs a workforce of over 70 working alongside state-of-the-art technology to produce each Geohex™ paver.
At its core, Geohex™ is a uniquely Australian innovation that helps to remedy a number of ground stabilisation issues in a way that’s simple yet clever, while being long-lasting and affordable for the end user.
